Prone paddleboarder Cynthia Aguilar paddles from Cuba to Key West

Sunluver had the privilege of guiding Cynthia. She hoped to accomplish this paddle in 30-36 hours,Cynthia made it in 29 hours. I'm thinking the "Green Flash" was a good omen.
No one has ever prone paddleboarded across the Florida Straits before.

Abaco's to Key West

Woke up in the morning at Rodriguez Key and realized we were next to the "Tobasco"
There are about 8 lighthouses along the string of reefs that make up the Florida Keys Marine Sanctuary.
The sails are trimmed.....Our top speed was 12 1/2 knots

Regatta Time in Abaco

The Abaco's are a group of islands (Cays) in the Northeast section of the Bahamas. Some of the most pristine waters I've ever been in, which makes the diving spectacular. The regatta lasts for 10 days. We didn't enter any of the races, but did crew on a great couples boat. They were from Oriental, NC and we took first place in that race. This is the Stranded Naked Party.

Dry Torgtugas 2010

The Dry Tortugas, a small group of 5 islands, are 75 West of Key West. One of the most special places in all of the US. Once past the Marquesas Keys, it's another 45 miles of open water. Fort Jefferson National Park is amazing and seems to be floating on waters on your approach  The next bit of land West of the Dry Tortugas is Mexico, which is about 400 miles away.

Wrecker's Races 2010

Key West and Schooner Wharf Bar hosts a 4 race series on the last Sunday of January, February, March and April. These races simulate wreckers heading out to the reef after a ship has wrecked. Their first duty was to save the crew and any passengers. Their reward was splitting the worth of the cargo. This is why Key West was the wealthiest city in the U.S. It can get a  little cold out there for the first couple of races. Sometimes we even get to have a real live Pirate aboard for the race. And he's mean, too
